Careers and Opportunities  

The Wine Industry Management Specialization fosters a well-rounded understanding of the wine industry, blending scientific study with business training. This prepares you to tackle a wide range of roles in the industry. 

  • Winery Manager: Oversee the operations of a winery, including vineyard management, production processes, distribution, and staff management. 
  • Wine Marketing Manager: Develop and execute marketing strategies for wineries or wine businesses. This role involves branding, product positioning, market research, digital marketing, and promotional campaigns to attract consumers and increase sales. 
  • Wine Business Consultant: Provide specialized advice and guidance to wineries in areas like strategic planning, financial management, market analysis, and operational efficiency. As a consultant, you help wineries optimize their business performance and make informed decisions. 
  • Wine Entrepreneur: Start your own wine-related business, such as a boutique winery, wine bar, wine shop, or wine tourism venture. This path requires a combination of passion, business skills, and industry knowledge to succeed. 


Highlights

Study Wine Abroad 

Students in CWU’s Wine Studies program have opportunities to study abroad. In 2023, students could study in France and Germany. Past trips have also included visits to vineyards and wineries in Austria, Spain, Hungary, and Switzerland.
