Spanish, BA—Applied Linguistics Specialization


In the Applied Linguistics Specialization, you will explore the Spanish language—its structure, use, and impact in different societal contexts.

Through engaging classes, dive into sociolinguistic theory, conduct sociolinguistic research, and gain hands-on experience with interviews, transcriptions, and the creation of a linguistic corpus of Spanish spoken in Central Washington (CECWA). You will discover how Spanish is structured, how it is used, and how it varies across speakers and regions. Develop skills in Spanish Applied Linguistics and prepare for the workforce, equipping you to make meaningful contributions in our interconnected world.
