Certified
The Education Specialist (EdS) degree and certification at CWU is fully approved by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and leads to eligibility for certification as an educational staff associate (ESA) school psychologist.
Future-Focused
We offer a curriculum focused on the foundations of school psychological practice as well as new, emerging trends in the field. As the field of school psychology moves towards a greater emphasis on prevention and intervention, the curriculum and field experiences will prepare you for new, emerging roles as a school psychologist.
Early Intervention
An important issue in society today, you’ll learn to evaluate behavioral and mental health conditions, plan interventions, as well as study school systems and how to implement multi-tiered systems of support and prevention.
Field Experience
You'll be fully immersed in various field experiences throughout your training, beginning with practicum experiences in both our on-campus community service clinics (the Reading Intervention Center and the Community Counseling and Psychological Assessment Center) as well as in local school districts. The program culminates in a full-year internship in a school district in the third year of the program.

Starting salaries in WA average between $60,000-$80,000 annually for a 10-month contract.
