  • Parks and Recreation: In Recreation Management positions you will oversee parks and recreational facilities, organize community events and programs, manage park operations, and ensure the safety and enjoyment of visitors.
  • College Recreation: Consider coordinating recreational activities on college campuses. Positions can include recreation directors, program coordinators, intramural sports coordinators, fitness center managers, and outdoor adventure program leaders.
  • Commercial Recreation: The commercial recreation sector includes privately-owned businesses that provide recreational experiences. In this position, you would plan and coordinate recreational activities, by leading adventure tours, and managing the image of your company.

Alumni Doing Bigger, Better Things

2020 graduate, Kevin Bodle, studied Sports Business and Coaching at CWU. He is now an Athletic Academic Advisor at California State University, Fresno.

CWU Brad Case received his undergraduate degree in Recreation Management. He is currently the Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Ellensburg.

Savannah Scriven earned a degree in Recreation Management in 2019. She now works as the Assistant Manager of Recreation at the Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale, AZ.
