David Schwan joined the department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Central Washington University in Fall 2018. He received his PhD in Applied Philosophy from Bowling Green State University in 2017. Schwan’s areas of research are Applied Ethics and Moral Psychology. His recent research focuses on the role of emotion in medicine as well the ethical application of advanced technologies (AI/carebots) in clinical settings. Currently he serves as the Director of the EthicsLab initiative housed in the Department of Philosophy and Comparative Religion
