Office of Inclusivity and Readiness

A thriving community where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to grow—academically, professionally, and personally.

Thriving Together: Leadership, Success, & Well-Being

Who We Are

The Office of Inclusivity and Readiness, within the College of Business, is where belonging, leadership, and opportunity come together.

We support students as they navigate college and prepare for life beyond the classroom—empowering them with the tools, confidence, and connections to thrive.

Whether you're the first in your family to attend college or simply looking for guidance and community, we are here to help you lead, grow, and succeed.

What We Do

  • Provide one-on-one coaching to support goal setting, communication, and confidence.
  • Facilitate mentorship and leadership development programs.
  • Offer career-focused workshops and professional readiness resources.
  • Integrate wellness and self-care as foundations for sustainable success.
  • Connect students with real-world experiences through industry partnerships.

Why It Matters

We aim to equip all College of Business students with the confidence and skills necessary to thrive and become the next generation of leaders.

Our work contributes to the growing number of students entering the workforce who identify as first-generation or from underrepresented backgrounds by increasing access to mentoring, skill-building, and career preparation.

How We Support

At the heart of our work is the belief that success is rooted in well-being. Through student-centered support for college and career, we help students grow academically, professionally, and personally—not only by building practical skills, but by prioritizing the health and balance that sustain long-term success.

We integrate the Six Pillars of Health into every layer of our programming—a holistic framework that supports confidence, connection, and real-world success:

  • Physical - Building sustainable habits for energy, movement, and rest.
  • Emotional - Supporting self-awareness, self-regulation, and resilience.
  • Intellectual - Encouraging curiosity, learning, and academic engagement.
  • Social - Fostering connection, belonging, and meaningful relationships.
  • Spiritual - Creating space for purpose, reflection, and values-driven decisions.
  • Environmental - Promoting healthy spaces and habits.

Our workshops, coaching sessions, and mentorship programs are designed to help students thrive across these dimensions—laying a strong foundation for confidence, clarity, and career success.

The Office of Inclusivity and Readiness is made possible through a multi-year grant and partnership with the KPMG U.S. Foundation’s Reaching New Heights initiative. This national program is designed to expand equitable access to opportunities by investing in underrepresented students. Their support has empowered CWU’s College of Business to develop impactful programming, grow mentorship opportunities, and elevate students’ confidence and career readiness necessary for them to thrive and become the next generation of leaders.
