Benjamin Krauss, PhD

Kuolt Professor of Business; Director, Office of Inclusivity and Readiness

Dr. Benjamin Krauss is the Kuolt Professor of Business at Central Washington University, where he teaches courses in management, cultural intelligence, and professional development. He co-created the Office of Inclusivity and Readiness and is dedicated to preparing students for success in diverse and dynamic business environments. Prior to joining CWU in 2024, Dr. Krauss served as Senior Program Director for the Seattle Chamber of Commerce, where he focused on cultural intelligence and inclusive economic opportunities. His professional background also includes roles in consulting, project management, and education, as well as service as a police officer in Kent and Tukwila, Washington.

Dr. Krauss holds a PhD from Washington State University and certifications in Project Management (PMP), Stanford Certified Project Manager (SCPM), Design Thinking Certificate from Cornell, and is an Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) Qualified Administrator (QA). His expertise spans leadership, project management, and systems for fostering inclusive economic growth. He also brings a decade of volunteer experience serving on the Board of Directors of the YMCA of the Inland Northwest in Spokane, WA. Passionate about community engagement, he actively partners with business professionals and organizations to create opportunities for students and promote diversity in the workplace.

Tyler Roach

Student Program Assistant

I am a sophomore majoring in Economics at Central Washington University. As a student assistant in the Office of Inclusivity and Readiness, I focus on engaging students and ensuring they get the most out of mentorship opportunities. My perspective as a student helps me understand what is truly valuable in these experiences, so I can support initiatives that provide meaningful guidance and professional growth. Each year, I help facilitate programs culminating in a special event at KPMG’s Seattle office, where students connect with corporate partners and experience firsthand the impact of mentorship. What excites me most is seeing students gain confidence, build connections, and have positive experiences that prepare them for success after graduation.

Student Program Assistant

I work in the Office of Inclusivity and Readiness, where I help students connect with corporate partners, build professional networks, and engage in real world career opportunities. I enjoy helping students gain exposure to successful professionals and watching them grow through mentorship, conversation, and hands on experience. I played collegiate football and medically retired this year, which shifted my focus toward leadership, business, and student development. I am also the owner of NextGen Exteriors in Spokane, Washington, an exterior cleaning company servicing 50 to 100 homes per month. My strengths include networking, communication, marketing, and business development, and I am currently a freshman studying Business Administration and Management with a strong interest in helping students bridge the gap between college and professional success.
