Student Involvement


The Family Resource Center relies on undergraduate and graduate student involvement to offer services to families.

Student Roles:

  • Provide childcare while parents are attending classes.
  • Assist in marketing of services and recruitment of families.
  • Development of educational materials for families.
  • Plan and implement new FRC programs.
  • Co-lead groups for children and families.
  • Assist in family-related research.

Benefits of Involvement:

  • Students receive experience working with children and families, which can be valuable for social service or family education careers or as preparation for graduate school.
  • Students who volunteer at the FRC can receive course credit for their service or can use the hours for practicum or civic engagement requirements.
