Family Services and Resources

The Family Resource Center aims to provide free services and resources to families to support the health of children and families in the Central Washington University and broader Kittitas County communities by harnessing the expertise of Family and Child Life faculty and students.

Services

Parenting Education

We currently offer parenting groups based on the Incredible Years preschool program and the Circle of Security Parenting Program.

Incredible Years is designed for families of children ages 2-6, but all parents are welcome. The Incredible Years program is aimed at strengthening the parent-child relationship, and in turn, preventing and treating young children's behavior problems and promoting their social, emotional, and academic competence.

Circle of Security Parenting is also open to all parents. The program aims to strengthen the parent-child bond and attachment to promote healthy child development as well as parents' wellbeing.

We offer the groups multiple times every year. Each group meets once per week for 8-10 weeks. We offer free childcare during group.

We are unable to offer groups between September 2024 - June 2025, but you can join the waitlist to be contacted when we restart groups in 2025. Please complete the sign-up form.

Resources

The Family Resource Center collects items to donate to local families. We may be able to provide you with free resources, such as:

  • Child and adult clothing
  • Basic child supplies (bottles, pacifiers, diapers, etc.)
  • Toiletries and hygiene items

We welcome any donations from community members. If you are interested in donating resources to the Family Resource Center, please contact Sarah Feeney
