Private Pilot Training Course
Aviation Headset - Dual Plug
It is recommended that you purchase and bring your own aviation headset. Aviation headsets can be purchased online through websites such as sportys.com/pilotshop or mypilotstore.com. You need to purchase a dual plug connection headset. It is also highly recommended to purchase a headset that has Active Noise Reduction (ANR). This helps reduce the noise of the engine and protects your hearing. The bluetooth function is not required.
Students that are enrolled in our Private Pilot Ground I class, AVP 141, will pay a course fee and receive the following items in a CWU branded flight bag:

Instrument Rating Training Course
In addition to the equipment from the Private Pilot Training Course, Instrument Rating Training Course Students will need the following:
- View Limiting Device - Hood or Foggles - Most of the instrument rating training is done under simulated instrument conditions, which requires a view limiting device.
- iPad/iPad mini - iPads are used for Instrument Charts (ForeFlight). iPad can be purchased at the Wildcat Shop with student discount. iPad Pro is not recommended because of its size.
- ForeFlight Subscription - CWU will provide a discount code for the subscription.
The supplies can be purchased from the CWU Wildcat Shop (except headset), Amazon, Sporty's, or MyPilotStore.
