Instructional Design Consultations
Provided by the instructional design team to help faculty develop new online/hybrid courses or transition an existing face-to-face course to the online environment. Faculty will be asked to complete an online course planning survey and submit a syllabus as part of the consultation process.
Course Development Grants
Awarded to faculty developing online major courses as part of a fully online degree program or online general education courses to serve students in online degree programs. Faculty awarded an online course development grant must sign a work-for-hire agreement and have their course reviewed for quality assurance prior to receiving their $1,500 stipend.
Quality Assurance Reviews
Quality assurance reviews of online courses are conducted by instructional designers and faculty fellows and typically include an informal one-on-one meeting and formal course review using a quality assurance evaluation rubric with feedback and recommendations for improvement. Course reviews are required for online course development grants and courses developed for the Master Online Teacher Certification.
Peer Observations or Peer Evaluations
Peer evaluations of online courses are conducted by faculty fellows and provide faculty with feedback and recommendations for improving their online courses. Peer observations may be used as evidence of teaching effectiveness for performance review (subject to Chair and Dean approval).
