Health Sciences

This state-of-the-art, $60 million facility on the west end of campus is a hub for training the health science professionals of tomorrow.

The Health Sciences building includes industry-specific laboratories for nutrition and food science, biomechanics, paramedicine, exercise physiology, public health, and other growing programs in CWU’s Department of Health Sciences.

The 80,748-square-foot facility stands in place of Hertz Hall, which was demolished in summer 2019. It opened for classes for spring quarter 2022. The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified Gold building was designed by LMN Architecture of Seattle and built by TW Clark of Spokane.

The Health Sciences Building provides a home for CWU’s growing Department of Health Sciences, which offers bachelor’s, master’s, and certificate programs in a variety of fields. Its high-tech laboratories include simulation rooms to provide real-world training, as well as opportunities for CWU’s award-winning faculty to conduct critical research.
