Virtual Parking System Offers Convenience for CWU Students, Employees, Visitors

CWU employees, students, and visitors can now manage their campus parking accounts more efficiently through CWU Parking Services' new virtual permit system.

CWU's new virtual parking permit system went into effect this summer, and tracks cars parked in the campus lots by license plate numbers instead of hangtags.
The entirely online system, which was introduced last month, allows Parking Services customers to update their license plate information, pay citations, and purchase daily passes through the MyParking portal on MyCWU or through the Parking Services website. The new system uses vehicle-mounted cameras to verify license plate information instead of the hangtags that were previously required.
Employees and students who purchased passes for the 2021-22 academic year were automatically enrolled in the new system in late June and were not required to take action. However, only the customer's primary vehicle information was included during the transition. Those who need to add a vehicle to their account may do so through MyParking.
Those who wish to purchase a virtual daily pass can scan the QR code at each of the campus lots or visit the Parking Services office at 1211 Wildcat Way during regular business hours. Window stickers or paper receipts are no longer required.
The new virtual system also allows customers to pay their citations through a new online portal. You do not need to log in to complete payments; just provide the citation number, license plate, and payment information.
Beginning next month, customers also will be able to purchase annual or quarterly passes for the 2022-23 academic year. Fall 2022 and calendar permits will be available for pre-order starting August 22, but they will not be active until September 16. Current calendar permits are valid through September 20.
If you would like additional information about the new virtual parking permit system, see the online FAQs, email parking@cwu.edu, or call 509-963-2667.
