Virtual conversation this week to discuss "Me and White Supremacy"

CWU faculty and staff are invited to participate in a dialogue this Thursday about what the university can do to recruit and retain people of color.

Verónica Gómez-Vilchis and Sigrid M. Davison, from the CWU Office of Inclusivity and Diversity, will guide an exercise to apply author Layla Saad's commitments to the recruitment and retention of people of color at CWU. Faculty and staff are asked to "participate in a challenge and take action to do something."

The conversation will be centered around suggestions Saad made in her book, "Me and White Supremacy." The self-published anti-racism education workbook was initially offered for free in an Instagram challenge in 2018. The workbook was downloaded by 100,000 people in just six months.

Saad is a New York Times and Sunday Times bestselling author, anti-racism educator, international speaker, and podcast host on the topics of race, identity, leadership, personal transformation and social change.
