Students Help City of Ellensburg with Earthquake Awareness

When a big disaster hits, emergency service experts recommend people have three days of supplies.

Considering that relatively low-population Kittitas County probably won’t be high on incoming responders’ triage list, it might be better to have two weeks or more, said Eamonn Clarke, a sophomore at Central Washington University who’s helping the city of Ellensburg with an earthquake awareness campaign.

“If there’s a regional disaster, all the aid’s going to go to Seattle, it’s not going to come out here, at least not for a while,” he said.
