Premiere Party Planned for Season Three of the ‘Nick on the Rocks’ TV Show

A special premiere event for season 3 of the popular âNick on the Rocksâ television program is scheduled for 7 p.m. on January 24 in the Student Union and Recreation Center Theater on the Central Washington University campus.
All six of the new âNick on the Rocksâ episodes will air during the premiere event.
âNick on the Rocksâ is sponsored by Central Washington University and hosted by CWU geology senior lecturer Nick Zentner. It airs on public television, KCTS 9 (which also streams episodes at www.kcts9.org/nick-rocks) as well as on Oregon Public Broadcasting and KSPS-Spokane.
The premiere is free to all, with doors opening at 7 p.m. and screening beginning at 7:30 p.m. sharp. Seating is limited and will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
The episodes will start broadcasting on KCTS on Thursday nights at 8:50 p.m. during the months of February and March. The five-minute episodes also will be available on YouTube and the PBS app.
Zentner is an award-winning educator who was honored with the National Association of Geoscience Teachersâ prestigious James Shea Award, which recognizes exceptional delivery of Earth Science content to the general public. In addition to teaching geology at CWU since 1992, he has hosted several web and broadcast programs including â2 Minute Geology,â âRoadside Geology,â and âCentral Rocks.â
Executive producer of the show is Linda Schactler, chief of staff at CWU and a member of the Community Advisory Board for Cascade Public Media, which owns KCTS.
Chris Smart, a video producer at CWU, serves as videographer and producer/editor of âNick on the Rocks.â He is a regional Emmy award-winning producer who began his broadcast career as program director and music director for radio stations in North and South Carolina.
