Central Washington University’s Lion Rock Visiting Writers Series will continue this week, with publishing panels scheduled for Wednesday, November 1, and Thursday, November 2.

Wednesday’s sessions will be held in Samuelson 131 at noon and 1:30 p.m. The panels, which focus on editing and publishing, will feature industry professionals Zoe-Aline Howard and Elaina Ellis. In addition to the in-person panels, attendees can also join both sessions via Zoom.

Howard has worked in several positions across the industry as a literary agent and publicist. She currently serves as an agent for Howland Literary and as a literary publicist for Pine State Publicity, while Ellis is publisher and co-founder at romance fiction imprint Generous Press. She also owns a literary editing service called A Trusted Reader.

Thursday’s session on genre writing and alternative publishing will run from 6-7:30 p.m. in Samuelson 131 and via Zoom. The panel will feature three writers from a variety of genres and mediums.

T.J. Tranchell is a CWU English BA and MA alumnus who has presented his horror-focused work at the Popular Culture Association’s national conference and the Ann Radcliffe Conference on the “Great American Horror Novel.”

Elise Forier Edie is a widely published author, playwright, and screenwriter, best known for her hit play, The Pink Unicorn, plus a variety of horror and romance fiction works. Knox Gardner is a queer poet, as well as the publisher and editor-in-chief of the Northwest-focused Entre Ríos Books imprint in Seattle.
