Are you wondering about the role your department will play in the rollout of CWU's new brand? Do you want to learn more about our updated brand voice and visual identity? Maybe you just need a refresher after the CWU Brand Summit a couple weeks ago?

If you want to find out more about what the updated brand identity means for you and your team, Public Affairs would like to invite you to our first Brand Open House on Friday, February 17, from 1-3 p.m. on the fourth floor of Barge Hall.

This informal gathering will be your chance to personally engage with the PA staff who will be supporting you as we implement and maintain CWU's new brand identity.

  • Talk to our team of graphic artists about how to use the new creative assets we have developed for use across campus.
  • Meet with our writers and editors to get some tips that your team can use as it adopts CWU's new messaging platform.
  • Find out how your team might be involved in maintaining your department's webpages once the new-and-improved CWU website launches later this year.

As we have shared with campus in recent months, Public Affairs is leading a university-wide effort to become a branded house; that is, instead of each department across the university having a look and feel of its own, we must create a strategic and intentional narrative about ourselves through the lens of our brand promise.

We will continue our transition to becoming a branded house through a relational approach because we believe that for CWU to tell our story most effectively, everyone who communicates with our many audiences should be on the same page. That being said, the goal of the Open House is to provide individualized guidance and consultation to all of our campus partners so we can assist you in the adoption and use of brand-consistent marketing and communication with all of our audiences.

We hope to see everyone on the fourth floor of Barge Hall this Friday at 1 p.m. In the meantime, please let us know if you have any questions by emailing publicaffairs@cwu.edu or calling 963-1221.
