The FISH Food Bank is organizing a cooling station at Rodeo City BBQ in Ellensburg over the next week to help community members manage the heat wave, which is projected to last into the Fourth of July weekend.

Two volunteers will be needed every day from Saturday through July 6 between the hours of 2-5 p.m. to provide enough water and heat protection for local residents in need of assistance.
Volunteers will be able to work in hour-and-a-half shifts to accommodate the schedules of those who are interested in lending a hand. The cooling station will offer water and air conditioning during the hottest parts of the day, although food and groceries will not be available at the Rodeo City BBQ location.
In order to operate the cooling station, FISH needs to know by Monday, June 28, whether they have enough volunteers to meet the need for all nine days. Those interested in volunteering should contact FISH Volunteer Coordinator Anna Vu at volunteering@kvfish.org or 509-925-5990, ext. 802.
