Discussion on events in Ferguson, MO planned Wednesday in Ellensburg

A panel discussion on the recent events in Ferguson, Missouri and what it means to our local community, hosted by Central Washington University, will be 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Elmira Building in downtown Ellensburg. Doors open at 6 p.m. and this event is free and open to the public.

Moderated by Dr. Keith Champagne, Central associate dean of student development, the discussion will explore issues of inclusiveness at CWU and within the Ellensburg community, safety for students and citizens, and will examine the events that transpired in Ferguson.

“It is our responsibility as a community to come together and confront the challenges that face us with respect and compassion,” said Michelle Cyrus, CWU Center for Diversity and Social Justice diversity officer.
