CWU Trustees to hold annual planning retreat July 20-21

The Central Washington University Board of Trustees will meet for its annual planning retreat Thursday, July 20, to Friday, July 21, 2023, in Cle Elum, Washington. The meeting will be held at Suncadia Resort, 3600 Suncadia Trail.

On Thursday, July 20, trustees will meet in executive session at 10:30 a.m. for the purpose of reviewing the performance of a public employee, as allowed under RCW 42.30.110 (1)(g). The business meeting will begin at 11:15 a.m. and will include a public comment period. Rules pertaining to the public comment period are also available at cwu.edu/trustees. To participate in the public comment period, speakers must identify themselves and the topic to be addressed via email to cwu.president@cwu.edu by Monday, July 17, at 5:00 p.m.

For the remainder of Thursday, July 20, trustees, members of the Executive Leadership Team, and other university staff will meet to discuss the university budget, fall enrollment projections, shared governance, and the development of CWU's values and strategic plan. At the conclusion of this meeting, the trustees will meet in executive session for the purpose of reviewing the performance of a public employee. A social dinner will be held that evening; no university business will be discussed at dinner.

On Friday, July 21, trustees will meet in executive session at 8:30 a.m. to continue reviewing the performance of a public employee, as allowed under RCW 42.30.110 (1)(g). Following executive session, the business meeting is expected to begin at 9:15 a.m.
