The CWU community is invited to join Student Leadership, Involvement and Community Engagement (SLICE) on Wednesday, March 6, for an engaging and empowering discussion to celebrate Women’s History Month.

The Women in Leadership panel, titled “Women’s Herstory Month: Highlighting CWU Women and Femme Identifying Leaders,” is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the SURC Ballroom. The event — moderated by SLICE Director Verónica Gómez Vilchis — will bring together accomplished women leaders from diverse fields to share their insights, experiences, and strategies for success in the professional world.

The focus of the event is to celebrate the achievements of women who have risen to leadership positions and overcome challenges, while inspiring and motivating others to pursue their own paths to leadership.

Panelists for Wednesday’s event include Dr. Christy Gilchrist, Director Research and Sponsored Programs; Dr. Lucinda Carnell, Interim Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity; Heidi Behrends Cerniwey, City of Ellensburg Manager; Erin Black, CWU Board of Trustees Chair; Gladys Gillis, CWU Trustee; and Ginny Tomlinson, Associate Vice President Information Services and Security.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and light refreshments will be served. The panel discussion will conclude at 7:30 p.m. and will be followed by a half-hour networking session.
