‘Tis the season of ghosts and goblins—and symphony orchestras and tubas! Once again, Central Washington University’s Department of Music will present the Halloween Concert and Octubaween, two concerts that celebrate moody and macabre music

The annual Halloween Symphony Concert—replete with performers and conductors in costumes—will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 25, in the McIntyre Music Building Concert Hall. The musical program includes spine-chilling favorites such as the themes from Indiana Jones, Star Wars, and Harry Potter. Tickets for the concert are $14.00, and may be purchased at Wildcat Tickets, www.cwu.edu/tickets.

Octubaween is a long-standing tradition that never fails to delight. The thunder roars when 14 tubas and euphoniums bellow the “Tuba Tiger Rag,” or travel south of the equator to visit locales such as “Brazil” or “Africa.” Octubaween will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30, in the McIntyre Music Building Recital Hall.

Octubaween is free and open to the public.

Parking is free in CWU lots after 4:30 p.m. and on weekends, except in specially designated spaces and residence hall lots.
