While many decades have passed since The Beatles took the world by storm, fans still look for an opportunity to experience their music live on stage.

The Fab Four, a tribute band who dress like The Beatles and perform their music as a way of carrying on their legacy, offer those fans the opportunity to unite around their common interest and be transported to the heyday of their favorite band.

Central Washington University music alumnus Jon Fickes (’06) represents John Lennon in the band, and has himself been a huge fan of The Beatles since he was 10, when he saw The Beatles Anthology for the first time. In a recent interview with King 5 News in Seattle, he said the opportunity to provide that introduction to someone like himself is what drives his work with the group.

“I’ve loved The Beatles since I was a kid, and I love that I get to maybe bring that to some other kid,” said Fickes, who grew up in Moses Lake. “The Beatles are such an important part of so many people’s lives, and they bring so much joy to everyone, so I love that this band can give that gift to a younger generation.”

The Fab Four will be performing The Beatles’ album “Rubber Soul” in its entirety at the Moore Theatre in Seattle this Saturday, March 9. Fickes said that he’s excited to be returning home to play in front of his peers.

“It’s a hometown show, and I couldn’t be more excited,” he told King 5 News. “I’m pretty sure half the people in there are going to be my friends and family, so it’ll be a lot of fun.”
