CWU makes list of green colleges

Central Washington University has again made The Princeton Review's annual list of green colleges. The Princeton Review’s Guide to 332 Green Colleges 2014 Edition, available as a free download, acknowledges CWU's efforts in sustainable renovation and green building and the university’s steps to decrease its energy consumption.

CWU's environmental studies program and its Yakima WATERS Project also score points in the guidebook of colleges and universities “that have demonstrated a notable commitment to sustainability.”

A school is deemed green based on institutional data gathered from 10 survey questions that ask about transportation, LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) building, sustainability-focused degree programs, energy consumption, and more.

The guidebook is in its fifth edition. It was produced in partnership with the Center for Green Schools.
