CWU Campus Community,

Today, Governor Jay Inslee announced the extension of the statewide stay-at-home order until May 31, along with a phased, gradual return to normal functions. The Governor said the social distancing strategy was working to control the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and the state would begin reopening Washington businesses in four phases. He added that smaller counties
not hit hard by the virus would be able to apply to the Washington Department of Health for a variance to allow them to reopen more quickly.

What this means for CWU faculty, staff, and students is that we, too, will continue to stay-in-
place (meaning work at home). The campus will remain closed to the public and all public
events remain cancelled until it is safe to do otherwise.

Thank you for your continued ability to adapt to this very complicated situation. Remain safe
and continue to practice social distancing.

#CWUTogether.
