Care-a-Van Event Friday to Deliver Vaccines, Boosters to CWU Campus

Members of the CWU community who still need to get a COVID-19 vaccination or booster shot are encouraged to attend an on-campus clinic Friday, October 21.

The Washington State Department of Health's Care-a-Van mobile vaccination clinic will bring 200 COVID-19 vaccines, along with the newly released bivalent boosters, to distribute to the CWU campus community. The vaccination clinic will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in SURC room 137.

Participants receiving their first or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine can earn a $50 gift card. The first 50 participants to receive their bivalent booster will also be given a $50 gift card. Columbia Safety will be the medical provider for the event.

The event will be attended by 8th District U.S. Representative Kim Schrier, Washington State Secretary of Health Umair Shaw, and DOH Academic Affairs Director Carrie Evans.

Participants are encouraged to register online to ensure the availability of their preferred vaccine. The clinic will offer all available Moderna vaccines, all available Pfizer vaccines, as well as the Pfizer bivalent booster, which is designed to protect against the omicron variants of COVID-19.

Free, time-limited (15-30 minutes) parking is available within the main SURC parking lot and on the east side of the SURC, along the road in front of residence hall pull-throughs. Extended free parking can be found along Alder Street and near the northern corners of campus, as shown on the campus map.
