Black Lives Matter Socially-Distant Teach-in June 10

The office welcomes and will stand behind all honest and open discussion of the experiences of Black faculty and staff in Ellensburg and at CWU. The office recognizes that earnest discussion of these experiences will help convey the importance of these perspectives to Central and begin the hard work of addressing the issues that Black individuals face as a result of the anti-Blackness that pervades the nation.

The President's Office also recognizes it can be a risky and a vulnerable move for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) to share their experiences for fear of censure or negative reactions from their colleagues and supervisors. CWU's commitment to diversity and inclusion means that the hardships and inequality faced by Black faculty, students, and staff must be addressed, and that begins by supporting all individuals speaking at this event.
