The City of Ellensburg has partnered with Central Washington University and others to create a new centralized Community Events Calendar that will help build a more seamless connection between what’s happening on campus and in the community.

The user-friendly calendar will serve as a central hub, making it easier for residents and visitors to discover upcoming events and stay informed about local happenings. The calendar automatically pulls events from several community partners, including CWU, creating a one-stop digital space accessible to all.

“The Community Calendar, in addition to being a central hub, gives the opportunity for increased visibility, more attendees, and better connection to activities,” said Kelle Vandenberg, the city’s arts and economic development manager. “This calendar creates a digital bridge to access campus and community events.”

Other project partners include the Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce, the Kittitas County Events Center, and local organizations that host community events. Funding was provided by the City’s Lodging Tax Advisory Committee.

CWU looks forward to utilizing the Community Events Calendar to spread the word about its many events and activities throughout the year.

“We are always looking for new avenues to share what’s happening on campus with our friends and neighbors in the Ellensburg community,” Chief of Staff Dania Cochran said. “CWU appreciates the city’s efforts to develop this valuable new resource, and we plan to take full advantage of the platform.”

The calendar can be found on the MyEllensburg.com website under “Events.”
