INTERSTATE art exhibit opens November 6 at Sarah Spurgeon Gallery

The Sarah Spurgeon Gallery at Central Washington University will be hosting a national juried exhibition this fall called INTERSTATE: Where I-90 meets I-82.

Alexis L. Silva is the juror for the exhibit, and he selected the work of 46 artists from across the country. Silva serves as the Curatorial Assistant at the Frye Art Museum in Seattle. The CWU exhibit is coordinated by the Department of Art + Design. 

The opening events for INTERSTATE will take place on Thursday, November 6, beginning with a talk by Silva from 4-5 p.m. in Randall Hall, room 117. A reception will be held in the Sarah Spurgeon Gallery (Randall Hall, room 141) directly following the talk, from 5-7 p.m.

Ramirez, Rianna Rice, Boryana Rusenova-Ina, Karl Schwiesow, Mary Scriven, Lisa Sheets, Larry Sheffield, Marcus Shriver, Katie Simmons, Jennifer Sugarman, Kerry Sutton, Garima Tripathi, Jacqui Walker, and Bethany Laranda Wood.

The exhibition will remain on view through December 6. Sarah Spurgeon Gallery is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturdays from 1-5 p.m. The gallery is closed on Sundays and will be closed November 11 and November 26-30 for university holidays.
