A Day in My Life as an International Student: Ramadan Edition

In celebration of the end of Ramadan, please enjoy Syafiq M. Suhaimi's (one of our CAT members) vlog during a day in Ramadan! We have collaborated with CWU International Programs for this project and we are glad to be able to share with you all the full video on our IG feed.

Syafiq is an international student from Malaysia and is a junior at CWU Lynnwood, majoring in Business Administration specializing in Leadership and Management. Watch Syafiq's Vlog and drop a comment if you would love to share your thoughts.

CAT Member Wins CWU Student Employee of the Year 2022

Cathy Mae was a part of Westside Student Life since the Fall of 2020 and has been nominated for the Mary Lonowski award and CWU Student Employee of the year for the academic year 2021-2022.

On April 12, 2022, Cathy Mae won the CWU Student Employee of the Year 2022. Other than planning and executing events, she also takes an active part in programming for CWU international students including recruiting new students as a part of her other on-campus job as a Peer Mentor for the CWU Office of International Studies and Programs. Besides being awarded the Washington State Employee of the Year, she is one of the nominees running for the National Title for Student Employee of the Year.

CWU #STOPAAPIHATE Watch Party: Discussion Session

In honor of StopAAPIHate or Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Westside Student Life provided a watch party back on May 21st! We watched "We Need to Talk about Anti-Asian Hate" by Eugene Yang [TryGuys]. Our video will be showing the discussion part of the event.

LEAD (Leadership, Empowerment & Development) 2021 with Mayor Franklin

Mayor Franklin, our keynote speaker for our 3rd Annual LEAD conference! We are both grateful and honored to have her at our conference about leadership, exploration, and development. Her leadership journey and goals for the City of Everett are truly inspiring! We are also glad to be able to share with you all the series of workshops and Mayor Franklin's talk on our Youtube channel. They are all uploaded and ready for anyone who wishes to watch and learn from them.

Study Cafe Hours

Drop by our Study Cafe sessions if you have any inquiries about campus events, concerns, or event suggestions/ideas. If you need a space to just focus on your studies, the CATs are offering refreshments such as coffee and tea to boost your study sessions!

For Lynwood Center: Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM

For Des Moines Center: TBA

For Pierce County Center: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 PM - 5 PM at Olympic 2nd Floor Lobby

WildcatCare 365

Student Health and Student Counseling Services have launched a new telehealth program for students called WildcatCare365. The service extends existing services to Center and Distance Education students and supplements services provided on the Ellensburg Campus. WildcatCare365 provides access to 24/7 medical and mental telehealth care from anywhere in the United States, 365 days a year, with no cost at the time of visit.
