About the Sammamish Campus

In January 2016, the City of Sammamish invited CWU to consider providing educational programming to residents of the Sammamish Plateau at the former Mars Hill Church site, which the city had purchased in March 2015. The City's preliminary survey of residents indicated a strong desire for postsecondary programming and community engagement activities. CWU conducted its own community needs and preferences assessment in spring 2016 and found a strong interest in the community for flexible learning options such as Running Start, professional education, and personal enrichment opportunities, and specialized instruction, such as tutoring, testing, and English as a Second Language. CWU began offering such programs on September 20, 2017.
