Learning Outcomes

The Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities has identified the following learning outcomes for students who utilize their formal or informal processes. Individual student learning outcomes are determined based upon the specific circumstances of the situation and through an individualized assessment of where the student is currently at within their learning trajectory:

  • Expectations/Community standards
    • Identify CWU's expectations for community members (including following CWU policies)
    • Describe the reasoning behind CWU’s expectations for community members (including following CWU policies)
    • Apply University policies and CWU's community expectations in daily life. 
    • Evaluate the application of University policies and CWU's community expectations in daily life. 
  • Conflict Resolution
    • Identify conflict resolution strategies and concepts to solve interpersonal conflicts;
    • Describe the benefits of these strategies and concepts;
    • Apply these strategies and concepts;
    • Evaluate the application of the strategies and concepts.
  • Impact
    • Identify behaviors/decisions that potentially or actually impacted themselves and/or their community.
    • Describe the impact or potential impact of their actions on themselves and their community.
    • Apply their understanding to change actions in the future.
    • Evaluate if or how the change potentially or actually impacted themselves and/or their community.
  • Choices, decisions, and alternative perspectives and solutions
    • Identify the behavior/decisions of concern
    • Describe the reasoning behind their behavioral choices and decisions
    • Apply an understanding of alternative perspectives and solutions
    • Evaluate differences in their behaviors/decisions to alternative perspectives and solutions
  • Skills, strategies, and resources
    • Identify skills, strategies, and resources to assist in future decision making.
    • Describe in detail how specific skills, strategies, and resources will assist in future decision making
    • Apply skill building, strategy planning, and connecting to resources that can assist in future decision making
    • Evaluate how learned skills, strategies, and resources have assisted in decision making
