Club Engagement and Civic Engagement

The What

Club Engagement Attendance Requirement: Attendance and or coordination of 3 Events per quarter.

These events are almost anything that you can find happening on campus. Mostly everything listed in the HYPE Publication is fair game. From resume workshops, to gallery exhibit openings, to participating in intramural sports or serving as a Funds Council representative. Additionally, the events that you all put on that are open to CWU students and or the public satisfy this requirement.

Civic Engagement Hours Requirement: 6 Civic Engagement Hours per quarter.

These hours are obtained by volunteering your time as a service with no financial gain to you or any individual from the club. We recommend volunteering through the Center for Leadership and Community Engagement as they have tons of already curated volunteer opportunities. However, we will accept volunteer hours outside of the CLCE.

The Why

First and foremost the great work that you all can do as a coordinated group of leaders on campus to better the experience of those around you as students and also your community.

Exposure and recruitment to grow your club. The more diverse things that you all get involved in as a club representing your club, the higher the likelihood that other students are going to see you and want to join in. Additionally, if you are a group that volunteers often or is present at particular events often staff in those areas will remember you and by familiarity promote your group in their everyday work.

The more involved the whole force of clubs is on campus, the more tools there are to leverage to provide you all more support and resources. If we can document the service hours you all contribute it is easier to make the case for why clubs should have access to more funds.
