The mission of the Department of Public Affairs is to position CWU for investment by state and federal government, private organizations, and by students and their families. We do that by telling the world about the remarkable people, programs, and accomplishments at CWU. We help staff, students, and faculty communicate their successes, opportunities, and discoveries to key audiences.
The Department of Public Affairs uses market research to set standards for communication with external audiences on behalf of the university. Our goal is to ensure the highest standards of quality and effectiveness in communication across all platforms: web-based and broadcast media, video, print, and more. The Department of Public Affairs strives to use crisp, clear, and compelling messages to communicate with all audiences, including elected officials, business leaders, and prospective students, faculty, alumni.
