Resources

There are many resources available to support students, both academically and socially, while they attend Central Washington University. Please take advantage of them:

MyCWU Account

You have been sent a letter with your MyCWU username and directions to set up your account. If not, please contact the IT Helpdesk at (509) 963-2001. Through your account, you are able to access many resources available to CWU students, such as your student email. If you need assistance in navigating the MyCWU website, visit MyCWU Help for more information.

Running Start Advising

Running Start students are required to meet with the Running Start Advisor each quarter before they can register, but are encouraged to meet with the advisor on a more frequent basis to troubleshoot any problems, discuss future academic or career plans, select courses to take for specific degrees or academic goals, and get help with university and scholarship applications. Call 509-963-1351 (Ellensburg) or 425--392-2110) to schedule an appointment.

Running Start Peer Mentoring

The CWU Running Start Peer Mentors are students who have participated in the Running Start program at Central Washington University and serve as a resource, a helping hand, a sounding board, and a referral service. They provide support, encouragement, and information to Running Start students in their first year of the program. One of the great things about Running Start Peer Mentors is that they have participated in the Running Start program at CWU and can give advice about navigating college life, overcoming challenges, and help new students find success in the program.

Disability Services

Disability Services carries out Central Washington University's mission to "inspire intellectual depth and breadth, to encourage lifelong learning, and to enhance the opportunities for its students." DS facilitates full participation, universal access, and reasonable accommodation to meet the unique needs of each person with a disability. Students wishing to request disability accommodations are responsible for contacting Disability Services.

CWU Libraries

CWU Libraries provide access to a myriad of academic resources, technological support, and staff who can help students with their studies.

Learning Commons

The Learning Commons includes the Writing Center, Math Center, Online Tutoring, and Peer Assisted Labs. It provides tutoring in a variety of subjects, peer assisted learning, and academic coaching.

Career Services

Career Services is a comprehensive career counseling center designed to engage students as active participants in their career development from freshman through alumni. The central purpose of Career Services is to help students prepare for academic and career success. A career counselor can help with selecting a major, personal career inventories, on-line assessments, resumes and cover letters, interviewing skills and preparation, successful job search strategies, employer research, career direction, and other services.

Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC)

(Ellensburg)

The Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) features dining options, the bookstore, recreation and student life programs, and other services like the campus radio (88.1 The Burg), laptop checkout, outdoor pursuits and rentals, the recreation center, and information center.

Student Wellness Center

(Ellensburg)

Through coordinated efforts in health promotion and prevention strategies, the Wellness Center program strives to enhance the overall health of the campus and community.

Clubs & Organizations

Students are able to join Clubs relating to a variety of academic, career, and social pursuits. 

Student Media

CWU features a variety of different media that students can utilize to participate on campus and get involved including The Burg Radio Station, Pulse Magazine, HYPE Online, and The Observer newspaper.

University Recreation 

(Ellensburg, membership fee required)

The Recreation Center offers two floors of health and fitness options including a 50-foot climbing wall with two arches for bouldering, a strength training area, fitness and cardio equipment areas, an elevated 1/8-mile jogging track, a four-court gymnasium, two group exercise rooms, and locker rooms with saunas and a sports medicine room. Note: Students do pay a fee for membership to the Recreation Center. Students under 18 will need to have a parent sign a waiver for them to use the Recreation Center.

Scholarships

Scholarships are available for your first year as a fully matriculated CWU student. Please visit the Scholarship Office website for complete scholarship information.

Request Transcripts

Students who plan to transfer their credits to another institution will need to Request their Transcripts from the Registrar's office.
