I believe in the importance of effort as a determinant of success, and in learning by doing.

What are the classes that you typically teach?

Principles of microeconomics and macroeconomics; Econometrics; Economic and Business Forecasting; Economic Research

What are your top 3 learning assessment techniques?

Socratic method questioning during classes; multiple written projects/assignments for upper division courses; chapter homework & quiz questions from online learning platform for lower division courses

What is the advice you would give to a student to succeed in your course?

Students who attend and work through questions in class, and on homework assignments, are well-positioned for exams and culminating projects. To this end, if you have any questions whatsoever, you need to ask for help! I can't help you if you don't ask in the first place. It also shows dedication, which may help with recommendation letters, job references, etc.

What is your preferred communication style, mode, and timeline?

Email. I closely monitor email and try to respond as soon as possible, often including at night. I also have an open door policy and welcome drop-in visits.
