  • Translator: Work as a professional translator, converting written texts from one language to another while preserving the meaning, style, and tone. You can specialize in various fields such as legal, medical, technical, or literary translation.
  • Interpreter: Serve as an interpreter, facilitating real-time spoken communication between parties who speak different languages. This can involve simultaneous interpretation at conferences, consecutive interpretation during meetings, or community interpretation in healthcare or legal settings.
  • Bilingual Specialist: As a bilingual specialist, you would provide language support and cultural expertise to organizations that operate internationally or serve diverse populations.

Highlights

In 2021, the Museum of Culture and Environment and the Department of World Languages and Cultures organized the Art of Global Protest. This series explored various protest movements worldwide, including those in Belarus, France, Israel, the United States, South Korea, and Puerto Rico.

The World Languages and Culture Department partners with the Office of International Studies and Programs to offer opportunities to study abroad.
