FCSE Masters/Endorsement Students

Following your Plan of Study, register for the courses through CWU My Scheduler
Please note that the start dates for your courses maybe different from CWU’s schedule
Start dates will be emailed to students. This is because the GPIDEA is based on semesters while CWU runs on quarter terms. You will need to check your email regularly for additional information and paperwork so that the teaching institution can process your registration and payment

Students are required to complete experience centered on observations, participation, and reflection within a Family and Consumer Sciences classroom
Practica hours will vary depending on the state requirements. WA state requirement is 60 hours. It is the student’s responsibility to establish a field site location with a certificated Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher
Students who are currently employed as a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher may use their own teaching experience for the practica requirements
Students are responsible for emailing Dr. Devlin field site location information at least 3 weeks prior to enrollment in the practica course

Students are required to participate in actual experience in teaching Family and Consumer Sciences
Student teaching hours will vary depending on state requirements
WA state requirement is 450 hours
It is the student’s responsibility to establish a field site location with a certificated Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher
Students who are currently employed as a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher may use their own teaching experience for the student teaching requirements
Students are responsible for emailing Dr. Devlin field site location information at least 3 weeks prior to enrollment in the course and apply through the Teacher Certification department
