New Volunteer Opportunity at Mid-Columbia Fisheries

Mid-Columbia Fisheries (MCF) will be hosting a Bull Trout focused volunteer program Summer 2024, which is a new addition to their typical volunteer planting and stewardship program.

You can think of this as less commitment than an internship, but more commitment than just a one-off volunteer event. We are requesting that volunteers commit to at least 3 activities from July-September.

  • Mandatory online orientation in June (date TBD - will accommodate different schedules)
  • Commitment of at least 3 activities from July-September (most days throughout the summer there will be the option to volunteer with Bull Trout Task Force crew)
  • Volunteer activities include: emergency Bull Trout rescue, habitat surveys, snorkel surveys, spawning surveys, rock dam destruction, and education to forest recreationists!
  • Volunteer mileage will be reimbursed up to ~80 miles per trip(funding and number of volunteers dependent).
  • Work will occur with MCF's Bull Trout Task Force and partners from agencies like Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, Yakama Nation, United States Forest Service, and more! This is a great opportunity to meet local natural resource professionals and network.
  • Gain outdoor skills and get to know your watershed!
