Summer Field Programs


CRM Archaeology Summer Field School

Learn about cultural resource management (CRM) and archaeological and GPR fieldwork. Participate in CRM projects in central Washington State. This in-person field program runs three weeks for 6 credits (quarter system). Meetings are in Ellensburg, and leaving from campus to the field on weekdays. The 2024 dates are June 17-July 5. Forensic Anthropology Summer Field School:
Record and excavate a mock crime scene. Analyze skeletal remains in a laboratory setting.  This in-perons field program runs three weeks for 6 credits (quarter system).  Meetings are in Ellensburg on weekdays.  The 2024 dates are July 8-26.  See the documetns below for more details and an application to complete and email to the instructor Dr. Nicole Jastremski.

Bioarchaeology in Ecuador Summer Field Course:
The bioarchaeology field program will not be held in Summer 2024. Instead, there will be a forensic anthropology summer field program. The bioarchaeology program is next planned for Summer 2025.

Other Summer Courses Online:
In addition to the field courses above, we offer introductory and upper-division courses fully online each summer. These may allow you to complete an anthropology minor 100% online over two summers. The following will be offered asynchronous online in Summer 2024:
