Apply to be a PALs Tutor

Would you like to join our PALs Facilitator/Tutor Team?

The CWU Learning Commons (LC) invites applications for PALs facilitators/tutors for the 2024-2025 academic year. A PALs facilitator/tutor fosters independent learning and student understanding of course material, stimulates active learning, and facilitates student insights into the learning process by providing peer-to-peer collaborative learning in primarily group settings. Facilitators maintain an effective learning environment by providing support to students in meeting course outcomes and helping students develop effective study skills. PALs Facilitators exemplify the core values of the LC and support the day-to-day operations in the service of all students.

For all of the 2024-2025 academic year, PALs facilitators will be needed. Though all majors are encouraged to apply, applicants must have taken the course to facilitate a PALs group for that course. Successful applicants will be CWU students in good academic standing and will participate, if hired, in ongoing training in PALs group facilitation administered by the supervisor.

Applications are accepted year-round and placed on our wait-list based on completion date of application materials. For more information on the process to apply, contact the Assistant Director of Tutoring Programs, Kristina Mageau, at 509-963-1369 or by email. You can also stop by the CWU Learning Commons on the ground floor of the Brooks Library.
