Get Involved

There are many opportunities to get involved at the Farm! Whether you are a CWU student, faculty, or staff, or a community member, volunteers are welcome. Volunteers are asked to email the Wildcat Farm or sign up through the CLCE for one of the times below. It is not required to stay for the whole shift, or return each week.

VOLUNTEERING

Volunteers are asked to go through a volunteer orientation within the first month of volunteering. Volunteer Orientations will be held on the first Wednesday and Saturday of the month, starting in April, from 12 P.M. - 1 P.M. followed by a 2 hour work party (optional).
Volunteer days for SPRING quarter 2020:

Wednesday: 12 P.M. - 3 P.M.
Thursdays: 2 P.M. - 6 P.M.
Fridays: 2 P.M. - 5 P.M.
Saturdays: 12 P.M. - 3 P.M.

What do volunteers do?

  • Plant seeds and starts
  • Weeding, weeding, weeding!
  • Apply compost or organic soil amendments
  • Set up new projects
  • Assist with building compost piles
  • Get set for next season
Volunteers can expect to work on an array of different skill sets. The work is varied and there's always something new to learn!

Faculty interested in incorporating work on the farm into their curriculum can also contact the Farm Manager, directly.
