Get Involved
Volunteer at the Farm!
Sign-up for work parties and special events through SLICE! Work parties are held throughout the quarter, and signing up with the Student Leadership, Involvement, and Community Engagement office allows you to get recorded service hours that can go towards academic, athletic, or club/organization requirements.
The best way to stay up to date on events happening at the farm is by following us on Instagram or Facebook. You may also send an email to WildcatFarm@cwu.edu to be added to our volunteer email list.
Some examples of volunteer tasks:
- Planting seeds and starts
- Weeding
- Applying compost or organic soil amendments
- Setting up new projects
- Building compost piles
- Organizing or cleaning farm tools
Volunteers can expect to assist with a variety of tasks. There is always something new to learn!
When Can I Volunteer?
Wildcat Farm Open Hours is a weekly volunteer opportunity and a chance to join the farm in their day-to-day activities. Open Hours is held each Wednesday from 9-11am, March through October.
What should I bring?
When volunteering, we recommend that you bring:
- Gloves - if you have them
- Water
- Snacks - if you need them
- Closed-toe shoes
- Clothing appropriate for the weather
Academic Involvement
Education and collaborations with Academic and Student Life are integral to our mission. We are an outdoor classroom and living laboratory. If you are interested in bringing your class or group for a tour or community service day, or if you would like to conduct research on the Farm, please contact the Farm Manager.
