Student Conduct Process

How the Student Conduct Process Works

Receiving a conduct letter from our office through the Guardian Portal can be a stressful experience and our office wants to make sure you have all the information you need to be informed during this process.

Anytime the University receives a report that alleges that a student may be responsible for violating a University policy, the Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities (OSRR) will schedule a University Conduct Hearing to review the information, meet with the student(s) involved, and determine whether there was a violation of University policies.

Depending on the nature of the reported incident and type of alleged policy violation, the Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities may utilize a different set of procedures. If applicable, the Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities may utilize the procedures outlined in CWU 403-04 (Appendix A) Student Discrimination Complaint Procedures or CWU 401-01 (Appendix A) Title IX Grievance Procedures.

The information on the Student Conduct Process FAQs page and in the Student Conduct Process Flowchart below is an outline of the general Student Conduct Process overseen by the Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities. For more information, please visit our Student Discrimination Complaint Procedures and Sexual Misconduct pages.

For additional quesions and concerns, please contact the Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities (OSRR) at (509) 963-1817 or Student.Conduct@cwu.edu
