Youth Sports Registration Information
Embark on an exciting journey with the Youth Sport Programs at CWU, where young participants discover the joy of sports, teamwork, and personal growth.
These programs provide a dynamic and safe environment for kids to engage in a variety of sports, learn essential skills, and cultivate a love for an active lifestyle. Led by experienced coaches and instructors, our Youth Sport Programs focus on building fundamental skills, confidence, and a sense of camaraderie. Whether it's volleyball, basketball, or other sports, participants develop valuable life skills while having fun and staying active.
AAU Opportunities
Santa Hoops Tournament
The Santa Hoops tournament first began around 2008-2009 as a partnership with the new Student Union and Recreation Center and the City of Ellensburg. Through the years, it transitioned to being a University Recreation event, welcoming approximately 50 youth teams to play on campus each year.
The Santa Hoop Classic continues as an AAU Boys and Girls basketball tournament hosted annually at Central Washington University. Registration is typically available to registered boys and girls AAU clubs for 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, 14U. Grade and gender divisions are offered based on team interest and capacity, as the tournament is provided on a first-come, first-serve basis for registration. Teams travel from all over Washington for a chance to compete. Those who win at this tournament will qualify for State.

Keep an eye on this page as we explore expanding our AAU offerings with the addition of a spring volleyball tournament and a summer track & field event at the premiere Recreation Sports Complex.
AAU Notice:
This is licensed by the Amateur Athletic Union of the U.S., Inc.
All participants must have a current AAU membership.
AAU membership may not be included as part of the entry fee to the event. AAU membership must be obtained before the competition begins except where the event operator has a laptop available with an internet connect.
Participants are encouraged to visit the AAU website www.aausports.org to obtain their membership.
