Calling all Move-In Day Volunteers!
Movers & Shakers is back for Fall 2025 Move-In. Join us for a fun and exciting day!
Details on Volunteering
Returning students, faculty, staff, and the community are invited to assist with this effort. We need your help, and your presence provides a warm welcome for our new, incoming students.
Returning students that will be living in a residence hall for the Fall 2025 quarter may be eligible to move in on Wednesday, September 17 so that they can work their volunteer shift. If you will be living in a CWU residence hall, please indicate that in your volunteer form.
Fall 2025 New Student Move-In Days will be Thursday, September 18 and Friday, September 19, 2025.
The Deadline for Movers & Shakers volunteer sign up will be Friday, Sept. 12, 2025.
Movers & Shakers volunteers will be asked to:
- Commit to a minimum of a 2-hour shift
- Verbally welcome new students and their families to CWU
- Offer assistance in carrying students' belongings to their residence hall room
- Keeping track of move-in carts and dollys
Shift times are as follows:
Thursday
- 8-10 AM, 10 AM to Noon, Noon to 2 PM
Friday
- 8-10 AM, 10 AM to Noon, Noon to 2 PM, and 2-4 PM

Make sure to indicate a group contact person who will be checking their email for information as we get closer to move-in day. We'll be sending info on our volunteer orientation session, your assigned location and time, and how to check your volunteer group in on move-in day. Group sign up is for 5 or more individuals that wish to volunteer together and is open to campus and community groups. CWU student clubs and organizations that sign up are able to earn volunteer hours for your group members.
*Please Note! When selecting a day to volunteer, Thursday and Friday are equally busy with first-year incoming students. We divide them between both days with the same number of students moving in per time slot.
