Winter Weather Advisory Begins at 10:00 p.m., Snow Flurries Reported on I-90 (2-23-19 5:45 p.m.)

NWS logoA National Weather Service issued Winter Weather Advisory will go into effect at 10:00  p.m. tonight, Saturday, and will continue until 4:00 a.m. Wednesday. The advisory comes in conjunction with a forecast for a prolonged snow event, which is expected to impact the Kittitas Valley, Yakima Valley, Lower Columbia Basin of Washington, and foothills of the Blue Mountains of Washington, including the cities of Ellensburg, Thorp, Naches, Sunnyside, Toppenish, Yakima, Connell, Prosser, Tri-Cities, Dayton, Waitsburg, and Walla Walla. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are expected.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving. NWS reports travel could be very difficult and the hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

WSDOT logoThe Washington State Department of Transportation is reporting snow flurries on I-90. The roadway is bare and dry, wet in places. There are no restrictions on westbound or eastbound travel.
