Fare Free to the Fair and Rodeo

This Labor Day Weekend, Fair and Rodeo goers can hop on Central Transit and ride free to Chestnut Street, one block from the Kittitas County Fair and Ellensburg Rodeo.
No car? No problem. Don’t want to spend time looking for that perfect parking spot near the entrance to the Fairgrounds? No problem.
Central Transit, the City of Ellensburg’s fare free public transit service, offers weekday, weekend, and Labor Day bus service. We have four bus routes for riders on Thursday and Friday; three bus routes available between 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (Labor Day holiday). Riders can take the Blue Route and get dropped off on Chestnut Street, just one block east of the Fairgrounds entrance. Or riders can hop on any of the bus routes, and get dropped off on University Way right across from Campus U Totem, then walk 10 minutes to the Fairgrounds.
Want to drive and have your car handy? No problem. City of Ellensburg Parks and Recreation is allowing vehicles to ‘park and ride’ during the Labor Day Weekend from two of Ellensburg’s premier parks – Rotary Park and Kiwanis Park. From Rotary Park, riders hop on the Orange Route, transfer to the Blue Route at the CWU Student Union for drop off on Chestnut Street (travel time estimated at 38 minutes). From Kiwanis Park, riders hop on the Blue Route and get dropped off approximately 25 minutes later on Chestnut Street. Catch the bus back to your car ‘park’ via the Blue Route – last bus at the Chestnut Street stop is 6 p.m.
A reminder that during the parade on Saturday, bus service detours are in effect, and some bus stops are impacted between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Hop on. We’ll take you there. Central Transit https://ci.ellensburg.wa.us/centraltransit
