CWU Hosts Affordable Care Act Open Enrollment Event December 2

Need health insurance, or have questions about coverage options? The CWU Wellness Center and the Student Medical and Counseling Clinic (SMaCC) are partnering with the Washington Healthcare Authority, Yakima Neighborhood Health and the Kittitas County Public Health Department to help CWU students and community members better understand resources available through the Affordable Care Act by hosting an open enrollment event Tuesday, Dec. 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) rooms 137 A&B. This event is free and open to the public.
Resource navigators and brokers will be on site and available to help answer questions and assist in enrolling individuals and families in health insurance plans that fit their needs and budgets.
Those interested in enrolling will need to know:
1. If being claimed as dependents on their parent’s taxes, individuals need to know the income for the house and how many people live there.
2. If independent, individuals need to estimate their current income.
3. Individuals need to know their tax filing status.
Those interested in attending are encouraged to contact the SMaCC prior to schedule an appointment to meet with a resource navigator or broker on Tuesday by visiting www.cwu.edu/medical-counseling/. More information about the various health insurance options can be found at www.wahealthplanfinder.org.
For more information please contact the SMaCC at 509-963-1811.
